Kythera is the southernmost island of the Ionian Islands, located between the Peloponnese and Crete, where two seas meet: the windy and rough Myrtoo Sea and the calm Ionian sea. The island is easily connected by ferry from Piraeus, Crete and the Peloponnese (Naples and Gytheio), It is connected by air daily to the airport of Athens “Eleftherios Venizelos”.
